When you are providing a high-quality service or product, the time, skill and effort that has gone into it should come across for all to see, but unfortunately, it doesn’t end there.

For people to see your product, they need to hear about it, and that is why advertising is so essential for any business. It’s not enough to say ‘I don’t need to advertise because everybody knows me’ or ‘I have all the business I need’ you have to consider your competitors who will be continually chipping away at your market share. Businesses don’t stand still they either grow or shrink and can you afford for your business to shrink. Word of mouth can only get you so far and, let’s face it, is a form of advertising in itself.

As with any important task, advertising can sometimes seem like an overwhelming task and many small companies or start-ups simply don’t know where to start.

It is often a good idea to start locally and build up from there based on the reaction you receive. Delivering leaflets door to door allows you to connect with your client base on a direct level, they get to know your brand, your tagline and most importantly, what you offer and what you stand for as a company.

The most successful campaigns are ones that stay in the memory of the customers and build up a level of confidence and trust. If you can achieve this locally then you have a much greater chance of being able to achieve it on a national or even global scale. However, if you can’t achieve it locally then there is likely to be a fundamental error that will severely limit your success.

Without a well thought out and effective advertising campaign many companies struggle to survive.

On a fundamental level this makes perfect sense because if people don’t hear your message then how will they know to choose you?
In some cases, a poorly thought out campaign can even do more damage than no campaign at all. While customers are constantly on the lookout for a great deal, they also remember all the bad deals or experiences out there. Those advertising campaigns that get under your skin will stick in your memory for a surprisingly long time and can severely damage your brand.

Advertising consists of just about anything that gets your brand out there and into the minds and houses of your customers.

Leaflet distribution is one of the most successful methods out there, especially in this current environment of digital information – a physical leaflet is becoming a novelty and therefore cherished, and will serve as a regular reminder of your company.

We’ll leave you with the best tip to help you make leaflet distribution work for you and your business is to approach it with the client’s point of view in mind. How will they see the leaflet? What will they do with it? Will they remember it?
