Hilbar Autos is a Citroen and Peugeot specialist repair and service garage based in the Neath Abbey Business Park. The business was established in 2010 by full trained technicians Bradley Hilton and Lee Harris-Barfoot, who have a combined main dealer experience of more than 28 years.
Bradley and Lee recognised that they needed to do something to bring in new business. They had tried carrying out a leaflet drop themselves but had no response. When they were approached by Dor-2-Dor they were very sceptical at first, expecting the costs of distributing thousands of leaflets to be cost prohibitive for a small, start up business. But they were very pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the costs were for a very specifically targeted campaign, in their selected demographic area.
Dor-2-Dor helped Hilbar with the look and design of their leaflets. The first ones that they put together themselves focused on the company name; the ones designed by Dor-2-Dor stood out as the first thing people read was an offer of a service from just £75. This made them realise that people didn’t really care about the company name, but they were very interested in the offer. This advice from the company has proved invaluable and now they use the same offer on their website too.
Hilbar carried out two leaflet drops; the first in November 2010 when the business had just set up in the SA10 area; and then a second drop in July 2011 covering homes in the SA11 postcode.
This single marketing activity has brought in between 70% and 80% of their new business. Lots of clients said that they previously didn’t know Hillbar were located at Neath Abbey offering these services.
